I never encourage people to open/modify their devices if they do not know what they are doing. It's like building a PC; If you do not know what you are doing - either learn or just buy a pre-built desktop. There are always safety risks when dealing with electronics (but they can be avoided by grounding yourself first). Hopefully you didn't take my post the wrong way, it's just how it would be seen in real life.

Yes, if something is NOT working correctly (like your Battery for example) you have either 2 options: Go to http://www.apple.com/support and make arrangements to send your IPhone into Apple for the repair, or make an Appointment to go to the closest Apple Store's Genius Bar and if they do find that the IPhone is Bad, they can do a quick Phone Swap with a Certified Preowned IPhone right there @ the store so that you will not have to wait for your IPhone to be Repaired.

Right. There are no user repairable parts inside an iPhone.

If you have hardware problems, contact Apple or your local Apple

Authorized Service Provider.

If you post what difficulties you are experiencing, someone on

this forum may be able to assist.

Theoretically you are correct. But in reality, that is not entirely true. The warranty is not a physical property, so an Apple genius would have to detect that you did something to your iPhone in order for the warranty to be void. Say for example you change the back of your iPhone. If an Apple rep can detect you have modified your phone (this also applies to jailbreaking), then the warranty will be void. I have "voided" the warranty on different devices and have gotten support.

Advising someone that it is okay as long as he does not get caught is never a good idea, expecially when he is asking a question about possibly opening up his IPhone, which could actually cause personnal injury (he could get an Electric Shock, for example if he actually opens the IPhone up)! Just FYI!
