Why Apple is not supporting basic bluetooth functions?
For example, No iOS device can print via bluetooth to polaroid Zink printers.
The argument that apple has some other printing solution so its Polaroid's fault is pure Kool-Aid drinking garbage.
If this iPad is supposed to replace laptops in this, ”post-PC era,” then why doesn't it support all of the basic Bluetooth protocols or stacks or whatever they're called that my Mac supports?
Apple has not said why and it is against the terms of use of this forum to speculate why.

So if Apple and all the rest of the tablet making tech companies are not working to give these devises even the most basic PC functionality, then we are talking about an expensive toy.
In fact, there is no reason not to give iOS devices the same basic bluetooth functionality as a cheap flip phone or your most inexpensive PC.
Then my question is not for you to answer when it is obvious you have non.
My question is for Apple to answer or someone with knowledge in this area.

If you do a Google search on "apple ipad laptop replacement, you find thousands of hits where this claim is made, but not a single one is attributed to Apple. Most are pure speculation from tech blog geeks, youtube misfits, and uninformed people, most of whom later concluded that the iPad is NOT a laptop replacement.
Tim Cook used the phrase "Post-PC era" in introducing the new iPad, but in context, he was referring to portable and mobile devices for viewing content, surfing the web and checking email, specifically the iPad, iPod touch, and iPhone. Steve Jobs said essentially the same thing in several interviews prior to his passing. You are clearly projecting a different meaning on the phrase "post-PC era", and reading into it things that were never intended.
The facts are that the iPad DOES perform basic PC functionality. It handles email, calendar, and web browsing functions very well. It handles maps, photos, videos, games, etc. etc. etc. Not only are these "basic" functions, many would argue that they are advanced functions, some of which PCs cannot do. And yes, it does print using Airprint or another app. So your statement that the iPad somehow lacks "even the most basic PC functionality" is simply factually incorrect.
But that is the correct answer.
