crazy permission error

Sometimes the Microsoft Remote Desktop Client not respond and I have to force quit it. I'm not sure that's exactly the cause but now I got the following permission error, which basically make directories' permissions like a file and I don't know how to fix them:

Greetings,

Most of these permissions errors relate to permissions errors which are considered "safe" to ignore: http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1448

I have no personal experience with Microsoft Remote Desktop Client so I don't know how it works, but the referenced components above are part of Apple Remote Desktop "ARD" not Microsoft Remote Desktop Client. I'm unsure how these components of Apple's software would relate in any way to Microsoft's remote management application seeing as how they are separate programs.

If only Microsoft Remote Desktop Client is behaving strangely I would suggest posting the behavior in the Microsoft Forum: http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/mac?auth=1

Cheers.

I use MRDC from home every once in a while, if only to admin certain parts of the virtual machines we host on remote servers. It requires to log in as the equivalent in Windows of a standard user in OS X, to calibrate Terminal Server. The thin client devised by Microsoft for Apple is a far cry from the one Windows users get to use: it relies on network protocols that are badly supported by Apple, SMB being one of them. The newer Server OS versions of Windows (2008, and soon 2012) should address that, but if your server still runs Windows Server 2003, you're bound to experience some slowing down, and the occasional crash.

I agree with MadisonP about those permissions needing "repair": they'll pop up every time you repair permissions, and can be ignored. Since those are non-essential system files (they're language files for non-installed languages), they are supposed to be deleted by a standard user at will, but for some reason, they are marked as deletable by root only, hence the differing permissions. Ignore them.

There are alternatives to RDC on OSX: http://superuser.com/questions/103339/alternative-to-microsoft-remote-desktop-co nnection-for-mac
