SECURITY INFO REQUIRED?

This is from Apple. You just have to pick three questions and answer them. These are used should you ever lose access to your account.

I answered all the questions, put my email, and put in the year i was born and then pressed done but nothing happened!!!!! PLEASE HELP!

If you forget your password and no longer have access to the email you used to set up the Apple ID (some people use a company email, which they lose access too when they no longer work there), requiring you to answer the security questions to reset the password so that you can then change the primary email for the account.

Exactly the same problem. Enter all the data, press done, the screen doesn't change no matter how many times I press done.

Apple support requires a credit card - worthless.

To identify you if you forget your password. A stranger might guess one or two of the answers but three correct guesses AND access to your alternate email address is highly unlikely.

If your iPod is still within the free telephone support, then there is no charge. Otherwise, yes, just like I must pay the car dealer to get my car fixed after the free period expires.

Of course, if you're displeased, the logical action is to purchase a different product.

If there was a problem with the product, I can see paying for support.

Not so when the problem is an Apple upgrade, that has effected at least 3 posters so far.

Wow. If I had the energy, I'd figure out the percentage of the total iPods in the world that the three posters represent. I'm sure that it's a bundle.

I will take your advice and buy another product, which will eliminate two other frustrations with Apple.

iTunes duplicates all my media content (now I free up 20G worth of hard drive space), and it doesn't import contacts from CardScan (obviously, iPhone isn't a business phone).

It's a win-win! You'll be happy and we'll have one less troll on the forum.

I've also been experiencing this problem for the past few days; it asks for additional info (there is nothing wrong with my info; not the billing, not the password), I answer the questions, then I'm brought to a blank screen that says "security info" at the top, and nothing else happens. The reason for the questions has been explained, can someone address the fact that nothing happens afterwards and how to fix it?

You might want to try to straighten it out with "Manage your account." If that doesn't work, I do suggest that you start a new thread because a legitimate request for help will get lost among the whines in this thread.

First this is a pain in the *** from apple. In addition to that the questions Apple is asking are horrible and limited. There's a few questions that are pretty standard and apple has ignored asking those.

1. Various Middle names

2. City born, raised, etc

3. First Pet

4.

Why such obscure questions which are non-standard? Why not allow users to self-create questions since the one's apple provides are garbage.

Fix it apple! Offer at least a few typical questions. Your user experience has been a hallmark of apple products, I hope this isn't a sign of the times under Cook. It's this attention to detail in the UX that's been paramount in Apple's success. Don't overlook the details.
