I have been receiving text messages from people I know and are in my contacts but I am not the intended recipient of the messages. All have said that they did not include me in the message but I receive it anyway. What is going on?

I am having a similiar issue. it only happens with one person though, so i almost want to just say its them and they are lying saying it isn't but unsure honestly......
i receive text messages here and there for a few days at a time from one contact, but the messages are sent to another person they know. i only receive their half of the conversation, never the response from the intended person, and the message only shows up on my iphone as if the message was sent only to me, it is not coming through as a group message, and i cant not see the 3rd person's number at all. when i respond to the contact, they claim they are not texting me and have no idea how i got their text but eitherway it wasnt meant for me.
this is very annoying at times, but more so strange considering its only happening with one contact and happened with my blackberry and now iphone. also it doesnt happen both ways, my texts never magically show on their phone...
does anyone have any iphone knowledge to help explain this and how i can stop it.
We are having the same problem on our Iphone 4.. we see both sides of peoples conversation.
We can message in and tell them we are seeing their messages and they have told us, it is
happening to them also.
Now we have an Iphone 4s and it is not happening to that phone. Only the Iphone 4.
This has happened 3 separate occasions well into the night so we have to make sure the phone is
on vibrate or it will wake up our grandson at all hours. We know it is not their fault but , some text
messages are private and I am thinking, If it is happening to them, Is someone out there reasding ours.
It only started happening after the IOS 6 update.
We are with AT&T, and remedies to this or is Apple addressing ?
Are these being received through iMessage or through regular SMS?
Did you contact the person and ask?
why am I receiving text messages meant for other people?
