My iMessage app crashes upon start-up. Is there any solution?

So you are saying that you restored your iPod to factory defaults/new iPod (not fropm backup) and are still having the Messageds app crash?

If that is so that points to a hardware problem and an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store is in order.

Reactivate iMessage and FaceTime in settings.

You will find that you have been remotely deactivated for some reason.

I had th same problem but on only one contact.

I turned iMessage back on as suggested and all was fine again.

I believe those system statuses are generic and not glitch specific.

In the past they have been correct. The error discussed in this discussion point more to an iPod problem than system problem.

I wonder why OS X Messages still don't work properly.

- Restored to factory settings/new iOS device.

So if I deactivate my iMessage will it delete messages?
