Is there any way to actually pasword protect a folder? Everyone keeps showing how to make a disk image which isn't the question posed
The answer appears to be: you can't.
Encryption obviously adds a level of security that a password on its own would not provide. Arguably, it's the better way to go if security is a primary concern.
But simply creating a password for a folder is not in the cards.
