Wahoo ANT - Accessory Not Supported by iPhone

I try to connect a Wahoo ANT+ Fitness device, model AP201, to my iPhone 4 with IOS 5.1. I get the error message "This Accessory is Not Supported by iPhone". My wife has the same iPhone and the same IOS version and the accessory is working 100 % correctly with her iPhone. I have tried the following: Reset device in iTunes, Restored backup from iTunes, Reset all setting; however, the same message appears on my device. I have also tried to remove lint etc. from the connector contacts. Any ideas what to do next?

people repporting dust or dirt in the 30pin connector can cause that problem

Ok, I suppose dirt/dust/lint is the problem; I've seen this from other posts as well. But how can I remove this? I can see no dirt or dust. I have tried to blow, wipe etc. Any advice?

Any further updates on this? I have the exact same problem (doesn't work on my phone, works on my wife's) - I even took it to the Apple store, they ran diags which supposedly tested all 30 pins, and saw no problems....

This does not help you, but i would like to mention that I have the exact same problem with my AP201 model (iOS5.1.1).

- Connector is clean (very clean).

- IPHONE 3GS en IPAD2 are working correctly, and 4 different iphone4 models do not work....

I hope Wahoo or Apple has a solution to this problem.
