Lost Address Book contacts after OS upgrade

I just upgraded to OS X 10.6 and in the process I lost almost all of my contacts in Address Book. I did a full backup before I did the upgrade, so I expect I still have the file even if it isn't still on the hard disk. Any suggestions as to what file to look for and where it should be?

Best regards,

Address Book data is kept in ~/Library/Application Support/AddressBook. What were you upgrading from?

Hmmm. In one of the OS major changes they changed the way the Address Book data is stored. I think (my personal RAM is VERY flakey) it was between 10.4 and 10.5, which might explain why it didn't migrate properly. If you find that your backup isn't 10.6 compatible you will need to find someone with 10.4 who will export your data as vCards.
