How to add itunes to toolbars on taskbar menu?

I want itunes to minimise to the miniplayer on my taskbar as it used to. (Not the blue icon in the system tray.)

I know that to do this you need to enable the itunes option on the toolbars section of the taskbar menu.

I don't have an itunes option! When I select New Toolbar it takes me to my documents but I don't know where to go from there.

Can anyone please tell me how to add it?

Thanks.

Firstly, open up the iTunes Preferences under the “Edit” menu. In the preferences window that appears go to the “Advanced” tab. Find the option Show iTunes icon in system tray and make sure it is unchecked.

Make your way down to the Windows taskbar. Right-click the taskbar, go to “Toolbars” and click on iTunes. Now whenever you minimize iTunes the taskbar player will appear, giving you limited control of your music without having to maximize iTunes.

NOTE: Using the iTunes taskbar player in Windows Vista will disable the taskbar transparency.

🙂 Many thanks.

Perhaps let's try a repair install of iTunes.

Restart the PC. Now head into your Uninstall a program control panel, select iTunes and then click "Repair".

Perhaps try restarting the PC again for luck, and then see if the Toolbar option has reappeared.

Hello from the future! You know what's stupid: I thought the checkbox below that one was the one to keep unchecked. That's what was set on my other computer, which included the iTunes toolbar. Since upgrading to Windows 10, the iTunes toolbar has not been available for selection on the Taskbar. It made sense to uncheck the indented box, but because that's the way it's set on my laptop, which shows both the Notification Area icon and the toolbar option, I never unchecked that first box. Thanks for the kick in the pants in the right direction! After I got the toolbar to show, I went back in and checked the first box, leaving the indented one unchecked, and I still have the iTunes toolbar, while adding the icon in the Notification Area! Win-win!!! Thanks again for the nudge.
