Q: iTunes will not update
Hello,
When iTunes says that an update is ready, I ok this, and iTunes Update starts. It downloads fine, but when installing, it says:
"Errors occurred while installing the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools> Download Only and try installing manually."
Is there any specific reason for this?
Then when I choose to download only, then install manually, iTunes Update downloads the files, then opens the location in Windows Explorer.
These files are there: "iTunes64.msi" and "SetupAdmin.exe". I double click on "iTunes64.msi" and the program runs. It then encountered an error saying that GEAR was scheduled to be removed and asked me to reboot. I did, and ran the same program again.
The installer runs, but a few seconds after I click install, it says:
"iTunes Installer Completed"
"The installer encountered errors before iTunes could be configured."
"Errors occurred during installation. Your system has not been modified."
Please run the installer again, or click Finish to exit."
This has happened multiple times, and I cannot update iTunes to 10.6.1.
Any help is appreciated,
Thanks,
Mark.
