Quicktime Player 10.1 in Lion not playing .sdp files anymore

I've used to play .sdp files on Quicktime Player 10.0 on Snow Leopard.

After I've updated to Lion, Quictime Player got updated to 10.1 and it no longer recognizes .sdp files.

It gives an error message with "Quicktime Player cannot open files in the "OpenOffice.org 1.0 Presentation" format."

The same sdp file plays well on Windows version of QuickTime Player, and if I boot to Snow Leopard, it works on QT Player 10.0.

Is there a way to fix this problem and let the QuickTime Player recognize the .sdp files again?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

My "solution" was to download Quicktime Player 7 for 10.6.3 or later.

This will recognise and play the .sdp files.

Hello Geoffrey,

It looks like QT7 is it. You might use Apple Remote Desktop (or other management tool) to install it on all your machines and see if you can get your app to open the older QT. This might happen automatically depending on how it's set up. It does appear to be compatible with 10.9.1 as per this link.
