Q: Loss of audio from the right earphone (Multiple earphones tested)

Hi,

The audio output to my earphones has been reduced only to the left ear. This occurred suddenly on the walk home.

At first I assumed it was my headphones and tested multiple headphones, I also tested the same headphones in my iPhone 3GS and the headphones appeared to be functioning properly.

The audio port is clear and there are no visible problems.

Are there any other solutions to the issue, such as things I can check?

Where do you think the problem lies?

Thanks,

Andrew

Although the Audio port may be visible clear, try to use cleaning spirit tip and twirl it around in the port.

You can also try to borrow a stereo dock hifi, and see it the sound is still coming out to one side, if using the stereo dock, is still one sided, then your iPod Audio chip or the audion circuitry is the problem.

If the stereo dock sound is good, on both ends, then it is the earphone port assembly, need to to be replaced.

If it is under warranty, bring it in to Apple Store or else any 3rd Party iPod clinic.

    Have a nice day!
