Q: User name
Hello
Yesterday, in a moment of madness, I changed my 'home' name in the finder pane of my iMac (G4 OSX10.4.11)
I then found that all my emails, bookmarks, calenders, music etc had 'vanished' and also that applications, Mail, iTunes required re-setting. In other words, it was as if the computer was in its original state.
I then tried to change the name back to the original, only to get message that that name already existed.
Fortunately, all documents and pictures can be found by clicking on finder / hard drive and then double clicking the 'new' name. Also, I had a backup of my bookmarks which I have been able to import to Safari.
So, I now have two accounts, neither of which will allow me to obtain the above mentioned mail, calenders etc. I know it's my own stupid fault, but does anyone please know what I might do to resolve this? In my defence, I wonder why, if changing that name caused such problems, it allowed me to do it.
Thanks hopefully
Cynfran
