iOS 5.1 bugs

iOS 5.1 bugs

what happened to apple?

im afraid that they're gonna fall the reputation and efforts of Steven Paul Jobs.

im using itouch 4g, it came with iOS 4.1 firmware and it worked as the apple device would be, it never showed me loading thing.

whatever i opened either music nor 720p videos, it never lagged.

But with iOS 5.1 all the things in my iOS device are starting up after loading.

the world's best music device is now turned to ordinary one.

please apple wake up and hear your customers.

in scrolling music albums and in landscape orientation the album arts are loading like the ordinary devices.

after unlocking, the touch is not responding for a few seconds.

i never expeted this in apple.

Apple also doesn't respond or even acknowledge the issues that are left on their feedback site. I left feedback there 3 IOS updates ago about audio titles no longer appearing in videos - no fix ever came. I also left feedback about music videos no longer grouping together (after 3 videos) by artist - again no fix ever came. And now video chapter titles are no longer supported in their latest 5.1 update - I don't expect a fix anytime soon, if ever. And the icing on the cake is that the new iPAD 3 won't even display song lyrics. Yep, Apple has definitely lost their integrity and attention to detail. Sada's instincts are spot on. Apple's software business model is starting to look a lot like Microsoft's, which is to put out crap quickly and hope people don't notice all of the bugs.

If you want to have direct communication with Apple, then you will have to call Apple Tech Support, 1-800-MY-APPLE in the U.S.A., or if you are a Developer you can Join the Apple IOS Developer Program which will allow you to submit Bug Reports Directly to Apple's Engineering Department. Keep in mind however, that because that program includes Developing Apps to the Apple IOS App Store and Sometimes also Testing Beta Apple IOS Releases, You must first pay $99 U.S.A. Dollars, then have your Identity verified by Apple (In order to confirm that you are not living in a Country that has a U.S.A. Embargo and that you are NOT on the U.S.A. Terrorism Watch List Created by the F.B.I.) and last but not least Sign the NDA (Non Disclosure Agreement) that you will NOT talk about Apple Pre-Release Software or Anything else being tested in your Apple Developer Program Membership. If you are okay with all these Guidlines then go to http://developer.apple.com/ to sign up for the Apple IOS Developer Program.

As I previously said, you have the Option of joining the Apple Developer Program so that you can directly file Bug Reports to Apple, which I am currently a member of the Program, you can go visit your local Apple Store's Genius Bar, or you can call 1-800-MY-APPLE. Some of the people in the Apple Developer Program like myself for example are Not really Developers, but joined the program just to test the Beta Software and to have the ability to file Bug Reports to Apple. :-)

hi friend.

im not so big to discuss about the worlds best computing industry but i need to talk right now.

i love Steve Jobs, he brought down the complicated to most easy task in his products.

he was unique in his vision, i just want his views to be continued in apple's products.

no matter what the apple do in future there would be no such magic as that of steve's,

i bet.

I can understand how you feel about Apple, but just to let you know I recently bought both an IPad 3 and an IPhone 4S from Apple.com. I am satisfied with both devices, and am looking forward to eventually testing the next IOS Beta on both of them even if it is sort of risky, just to let you know. P.S. Installing the Betas is optional, just to let you know.

I have indeed called Apple technical support. When I told the woman who took my call about the audio titles no longer appearing in video, she immediately tried to pin the blame on the video itself. She asked which video from the iTunes store gave me the problem. My reply was that I created the video myself - wrong answer! It must be that the video didn't meet the MP4 specifications, she told me. And she added that Apple can't support 3rd party videos. Ooh, good job, Apple technical support person; you just absolved Apple of all responsibility. Of course, she hated it when I told her that the video displayed audio titles with no problem in earlier IOS versions. In fact, I have the same video on an ipod touch 3rd generation (running IOS 4.3.5) that displays the audio titles perfectly, I told her. Her weak comeback was that she has no way of verifying what I'm telling her and that she can only troubleshoot when the videos come from iTunes. What a moron!!! I was tempted to tell her that the videos I make using Handbrake are of much better quality than what comes from iTunes, but I didn't want to get off track. And I have since confirmed that this problem affects Apple videos too from a post on another website. Maybe they have some good technical support people at Apple; but for the few times I called them on this and other issues, the people I spoke to were robotic in their responses and didn't seem to be in communication with the software designers who created the problems in the 1st place.

As for joining the Apple IOS Developer Program, I'm not sure I would feel comfortable with it since I'm not an IOS developer. I'm also irritated that a person would have more clout in reporting bugs as an IOS Developer than as a regular user. Since you're already part of this program, kevpan815, why don't you tell Apple how they're screwing up IOS with their updates and then report back here. I would be curious to know how they would respond.

Sada, you're right about Steve Jobs and Apple being one and the same. Apple is Steve Jobs, period. And Apple always seems to lose its way when Steve isn't there. It may be too early to judge his replacement, Tim Cook, but I'm not that impressed. I read an interview with him that said he was responsive to emails sent to him, so I sent him one about all the bugs in the IOS updates. That was about a month ago and I've yet to hear back. It's like Apple has built a fortress around itself and won't listen to what people are trying to tell them. I happen to be a programmer and know what it's like to build applications for other people, and that's why I know they can do it better. When you update a program, you're supposed to be adding new features to make it better and not taking away existing useful features that gave their IOS a certain distinction and elegance.

In order for me to file a Bug Report, I first have to experience the problem (Which I haven't as my Net Flix Account works just fine thank you using Apple's Approved Netfix App from the IOS App Store), next I am required to Reproduce the problem in order to make sure that the problem occurs all the time, and finally last but not least, I am required to upload my Device Logs And Crash Logs with the required sample of the bug included in the device log that I upload to Apple. Bottom line, no can do as I have NOT had any problems watching Netflix on IOS 5.1! Just FYI!
