What are the largest hard drives (mirrored using Disk Utility) I can install in a Xserve?
It's a Xserve G5 (January 2005) dual 2.3 running 10.4.11.

We have run 1TB mirrored drives in the same machine, mirrored using Disk Utility. They were 3rd party retrofitted into the Apple ADM caddies. I don't see why you couldn't run a 2TB drive in there.

We want to try 3TB third party drives mirrored. If anyone else has any experience doing this please reply.

I installed a 3TB drive today and it works fine, however I had to erase it using Disk Utility on a MacPro running Snow Leopard first. The Xserve running Tiger Server would not erase the disk using Disk Utility.
I don't think that I will be able to install another 3TB drive and mirror them from what I have read. If you know otherwise please post.
