When I try to upgrade from version 4.2 to 5.1 on my iphone it just stops upgrading and I'm not sure what to do. The same problem happened on both my home and work computer. It took 2+ hours to download the new information and would get through the download and getting to "processing files" and then just stop and my phone still has the old version on it. What can I do?

This sounds like a computer issue. Make sure you have up to date iTunes installed. Turn off anti-Virus and Firewall which may be interferring with downloading iPhone IPSW Firmware.
I have the most current version of itunes and I've had the same problem on 2 different computers which is why I don't think it's a firewall issue. My personal laptop has a lot less security on it than my work one does and doesn't have anti-virus software that will interfere.
If you think it's a firewall issue, why don't you try turning off the firewall?
