Does this mean the money I paid for the pages app was wasted and pages no longer works after July?
Should I stop using pages now and migrate to new sharing solution?
I'm trying to work here. Please tell me if I am wasting my time on pages or if pages will support iCloud sharing after iWork is discontinued.
I don't have time to waste using pages anymore if it is going to be discontinued when iWork is discontinued.

MobileMe & iDisk as well as iWork.com (beta) are going away the end of June. Pages, Numbers & Keynote will continue to function as before. You can still share documents via e-mail, Dropbox & any number of online services.
iCloud sharing is only done manually via iCloud.com in a web browser for now & there is no reason to think that won't continue. Hopefully, we'll see an update/upgrade to the desktop versions of the iWork apps to take advantage of automatic syncing with iCloud.

How can pages work as before (after June) if iWork is going away?
Without iWork and iDisk and WebDAV (whatever that is) how does one share a document on say their iPhone iPad and MacBook? And no, I'm not referring to email or Dropbox.
Will there be a way to do that using iCloud after June?
If not, can I get a refund of my cost to buy pages app? It's useless without iCloud sharing.

Yes. Peggy already explained that this can be done at http://icloud.com on the computer. Click on iWork. If you want to get a document from Mac to iOS, click the Upload document button after clicking the gear icon in the upper right. If there is a document on iOS you need on the Mac, it should appear on iCloud.com. Then you can highlight the document by clicking on it, go to the gear icon and click Download.
iWork IS NOT going away. iWork.com (beta) is a separate service not necessary for any of the iWork apps to function. iCloud is not intended to be a file-sharing service, it allows you to have your files available for your use on your iOS devices. Use Dropbox or any other similar internet service to share documents with others.
My use of the word sharing was probably confusing.
The feature I depend on in pages is the feature to be able to access my pages files on all my iOS devices.
My understandinging is that after June that feature will be discontinued in iWork and thus I need to download my pages files from iWork so they won't be lost.
So it sounds like what you all are saying is that you know of no plan for me to access all my pages files across all my iOS devices via some kind of apple supplied technology similar to the way it happens now with iWork. Instead I will have to use Dropbox or some other non-apple technology to accomplish that goal. And this means, to me, I should assume pages will no longer be of use to me after June and that in turn means I should stop depending on pages now so I don't dig myself deeper into this hole which has no future after June.

The hole you're digging is all in your mind. It does not exist. You're confusing iDisk & iWork.com (beta) with iCloud. Cloud syncing works automatically between iOS devices but you have to manually upload & download the files from & to your Mac via iCloud.com in a web browser until Apple updates the Mac iWork apps to do it automatically (if they ever do). I do it regularly with several files I work on on my Macs, but want to open (& maybe edit some) on my iPhone or iPad. It is not going away!
As I keep saying, MobileMe & iDisk (basically one entitiy) & iWork.com (beta) are going away. Neither one has ever been related to accessing your documents on your devices. (Not exactly true, but enough for your use.) Although there is an iDisk app for iPhone, I never used it. iCloud is the "new" MobileMe (simplified explanation).
Obviously we are having a communications problem. Perhaps I am using the wrong lingo.

Let me try it this way.
I created several pages docs on my Mac.
I then used safari on my Mac and went to iWork.com and logged in and uploaded those docs.
I then go to my iPhone or iPad and open the pages app and, lo and behold, there are my docs waiting for me.
Cool. I can edit those docs and even copy them into new files which then magically appear on all my iOS devices when I open the pages app.
But then I got an email from apple saying to download those docs because iWork will no longer support all that.
So it seems to me I am losing the ability while using pages to access pages docs on all iOS devices, unless perhaps I use Dropbox or email, both of which I do not desire to do.
Right now I am mystified by all the lingo and what's going to change after June or not change after June.

So unless someone can clearly explain, in a way that non-engineers can understand, what that email meant when it said iWork was beng discontinued and that I have to download my pages files, and exactly how pages will support multi device file access after June, I am giving up and will stop using pages immediately.

iWork.com will be but it's not a component of the iWork package.
It's an application which never reached a status higher than beta version.

Stop over-reacting and do some basic research. Apple have already answered your questions.

After July 31, 2012, you can no longer publish new documents to iWork.com from any iWork application on your Mac or iOS device. Documents already shared on iWork.com will not be available to you or to those you shared documents with.

These are the first two paragraphs in the Apple Support document about the issue. Apple have clearly stated you will not be able to use the iWork.com service to share documents from 1 August. They did not say that the iWork products were being discontinued. They've also stated that you'll be able to use iCloud to share documents between your devices.
Note that Apple are a secretive company and usually don't pre-announce new or updated products or services. You'll find out more from Apple about using iCloud to replace iWork.com as 1 August approaches.
Note also that iCloud will not share documents with others - only between your devices. This is a key difference between iWork.com and iCloud. If you want to share documents with other people then you should migrate to another service like Dropbox, Google Drive or Microsoft Skydrive.

You are describing logging into iCloud.com & clicking the iWork button & then uploading your documents. See my screenshot at the end of this post & note the URL in the address bar & the name in the tab. I've tried to explain this several times. iWork.com (beta) is a service that was introduced in January, 2009, along with iWork '09 & it is going away the end of July. iCloud.com is new & is not going away. MobileMe & iDisk are also going away the end of June.

iWork is the name of the suite of three productivity applications - Keynote, Pages & Numbers. You continue to confuse that with a service called "iWork.com (beta)" that can be used to share documents with other iWork users (see the second screenshot).

I now get the distinction between iWork and iWork.com
It sounds like I need to download my current iWork.com documents before the July deadline, AND I MAY need to upgrade to yet another OS on the Mac about that same timeframe (whenever that new os becomes available) and figure out how to use iCloud to enable me to access my pages docs on all my apple devices.
So the good news is I may be able to continues accessing my pages docs across all apple devices via iCloud, which is the answer to my basic question.
Btw, I've found lots and lots and lots of gripes on various apple related discussion forums about this issue and I'm not the only one who was confused by this. Apple missed the boat on this one. I shouldn't have to manually download my docs in order to migrate to a new way of using iCloud in order to share docs across my apple devices. The reason I posted this thread here is I haven't yet found a good or reliable answer anywhere else on this issue.
Ok, unless I have again horribly misunderstood what you all have said, I think I am satisfied I can proceed to keep using pages/iWork.com now, and then migrate to pages/iCloud sometime later this year.
