well you dont need an effect if the image is full screen. Thats just editing! adam

use two drop zones. Don't know how you want to animate the screens on and off, but you can slide them or rotate them or whatever. You might want to resize them also so you can get two full frame pictures in the frame.  adam

Yeah I took two drop-zones. but now the tricky task, I want three statuses.

    1. the left is fullscreen
    2. both are visible
    3. the right one ist full screen

these three steps should be animated with one rig, so that I can choose when to switch between these steps.

right, but how would you cut step 2? when both are visible?

both clips are very long an must be sync. manual cut and the insert the generator with an beginning transition to the view with both clips is not very handy. I try it with a rig.

well to be honest if you are simply showing two clips at the same time, you could do this in FCPX. Either way grab the clips / drop zones resize and postion to taste and you're done! You don't need a rig since you only have one state.

you're right, but i want to animate the stept between. start fullscreen and end with both screens. i really could do this manually in fcpx but it seems to be easier with a generator from motion with only one slider.

    hi

If you build it as a Transition,  motion will give you the two dropzones already and all you have to do is animate them as you see fit. Then drop onto to the join of two clips in  fcpx. Actually that is pretty good, since you can reuse this throughout your project as you wish.

have you made one of these before?

    Hi I'm back :-)

so I got the Generator-Effekt. Butt the Problem is, that the Generator has a timelengh and when I streck the generator, the clips in the dropbboxes are slow down. I want it with out an effect to the time.
