Apple's AHT support - http://www.info.apple.com/support/aht.html - Apple Hardware Test Images and Information (for pre-Intel Macs, G4 and early ibook & iMac)
Here's the list and downloads for AHT if you have an old G4...

Note:
No AHT available for Sawtooth, try TechToolPro instead.
Some discs require you to use the Option key at bootup to select AHT. Some models have a separate AHT CD.

Apr 24, 2012 1:04 PM in response to jabo1by BDAqua,Is this the 5 CD set? I believe that's the ones I had that had the Discs silk screened wrong , one set had #2 & #3 swapped, & another set had 2 #2s that were different.

If the computer weren't so darned heavy, I would take it in. I've just had all these kernal panics over the years and can hardly trust it to do any heavy tasking. I'm thinking I may have put the disk somewhere I can't remember to look. I think it may be the disk that would also install OS 9, but can't be sure.

Apr 25, 2012 10:08 AM in response to Limnosby jabo1,Thanks for all the links. Unfortunately, box is a G5, so all those disc images won't help. I may try that tech tool pro suggestion, but i have run it before and it has never given me any insight to my problem.
