So mail accounts like Gmail will no longer sync? Am I reading that correct? Has anyone switched to icloud and had a adverse impact on email other than your mac acoount?

The way you described your problem in your original post was incorrect. Gmail has nothing to do with iCloud nor does it 'sync' with gmail or vice versa.


All you had done was setup gmail to pull in email from iCloud via POP3. iCloud no longer supports the old POP3 protocol. You can setup iCloud to forward your mail to your gmail account instead.


If you don't like iCloud's webmail interface, why don't you use the dedicated Mail client on your Mac as intended to be used with iCloud?
