how do i stop my husbands details syncing to my phone every time i connect it to my mac?

What if I'm not using an Apple computer? I'm a Windows user with iTunes. My wife's phone gets everything app ect that I have downloaded and I get all of her contacts. Basically we have two identical phones and I don't dig having to delete her stuff off my phone at every sync.
