Can I use FaceTime in London to the USA?
When I am in London and have a WiFi connection, is it possible to use FaceTime to communicate to someone in the US? I have a new iPad and everything is up to date.
MacBook, Mac OS X (10.7.2)

I think so. I've not read anything about restrictions regarding connections between users in different countreis. There is a disclaimer on some of Apple's webpages that states that Facetime is not available in all countries, but presumably they are referring to the app itself and not the connection process.
Yes. As long as both devices are on wifi and both devices have FT setup, it should work just fine.
You can also use Skype. I use it to communicate from the UK to relatives in Canada and New Zealand.
This is logical and what I assumed, but before I counted on it, I thought I would ask. The Apple support community is great. Thanks for the quick response.
I know Skpe to Skype would work, but I was curious about FaceTime. Thanks.

Please share your results when you try it. Many would be interested to know, including me! đ
I used Facetime between UK and Saudi Arabia and have to say I was really impressed. The Saudi hotel Wifi was fairly poor, but the connection was superb. I'm particularly pleased that you don't hear your voice echoing back and there's no real lag time.
