Q: Could not open network preference pane?

When I open system preferences and click on Network, I get the error message "Could not load Metwork preference pane" Have rebooted and verified disc. Please help! :(

I Had this problem too.

WHen I looked at the task bar, I noticed two open applications that use network services (Safariand an app that open network attached storage devices. Closing these applications made the network pane useable.
