Apple ignoring missing plug-in mail png jpg 10.6.8 Which mail client does work?

I am having th phantom problem mentioned dozens of times here and in other forums

None of the fixes work and Apple doesn't seem to care.

I think there are several reasons Apple isn't fixing this problem

1. They want to force users to buy a MAC OS upgrade by not fixing bugs

2. They can blame Java since they don't make it

(since the java reset doesn't work consistently, I doubt it is even a java issue see point 1)

3 Too busy partying over the stock price:-)

Any other mail clients that do not have this problem? This is too annoying to ignore anymore.

Microsoft OFFICE?

Are these inline attachments made with another e-mail software? If so, which one (including version)?

Are these inline attachments hosted at another website? If so, can your web browser open the website in question without issue?)?

Are you sure the person at the other end actually sent an attachment, and not a symbolic link, shortcut, or alias to the file?)?

Does the message in question show a paperclip next to it in the attachment column in the mailbox listing of messages?
