There are 2 simple ways:

- Use iPhoto to import your photos/videos when your iPhone is connected to the Mac.

- Use the "Image Transfert" app on your Mac to import your photos/videos from your iPhone to the Mac when your iPhone is connected to the Mac.

And the 3rd way, works only for photos and iCloud. If your iPhone is connected to iCloud and Photo Stream activated, simply go to iPhoto, and your photos will be there (i.e. it only works with photos and not with videos).

Whenever you plug in your iPhone to your Mac with iPhoto installed, iPhoto will automatically open up a screen giving you the option to download the photos in your iPhone...At least that's how it's set up in my computer. But I believe that's for photos taken by the iPhone.

Besides what said above, there is a iPhone Transfer Column which includes the tutorial about How to transfer photo/pictures from iPhone to Mac.

Hope it can do you a favor.

I may receive some form of compensation, financial or otherwise, from my recommendation or link.

Running iPhoto first and then connecting iPhone is the best way to do it. Once you see the iPhone appear select as many or all pics and click on import. The photos will be copied to iPhoto album and you will be asked whether to delete them from the phone or not.

Moreover, you can follow this page about how to transfer photo/pictures from iPhone to Mac,which give an easy guide to figure out this problem.

I am trying to transfer all of my photos from my iPhone to my Mac, but iPhoto does NOT automatcally open for me when I connect my phone to my Mac. Even when I have iPhoto open on my Mac before connecting my phone, iPhoto does not seem to register my phone's connection, so I can't transfer any photos. I know that my Mac is registering my phone because it will sync with iTunes, but there is no connection with iPhoto. I can't seem to locate any external device when I try to Import to Library either. Can anyone help with this problem, please?

If you have a Mac, you can import photos from your iOS device using iPhoto.

1. Connect the device to your computer. iPhoto should automatically open its import window and show your device's images and videos.

If iPhoto doesn't open, you might need to turn the option on.

2. Click Import All. Or if you want to import specific items, select those images and videos, then click Import Selected. After your photos import, a dialog will ask you if you want to delete the original photos from your Camera Roll.

3. Choose Delete Photos or Keep Photos.

If you delete photos after you import them, you can reduce the size of your Camera Roll and improve backup and restore times.

If you want to import the photos to additional computers, keep your photos.
