The Search command does not work anymore post migration from another Mac. Any solutions?

I successfully migrated from my previous MacBook Air to my brand new one with OSX 10.7.3. using the migration application. Fine, except the Search command does not work, in Finder, Outlook, Word, PPT or any other application. The files are all there, but the search seems to be applied only to very recent file. Please, can you help me?
