No connection on Imac

My modem works fine, my airports aswell and my Ipad and Iphon make perfect connection. My Imac also shows the network and connects to it. Triangle is completely black (4stripes). So everything looks as it is connected but still I have no connection at all. With the ethernet cable it works perfectly. What could be the problem? Thanks anyone!

I mac 8.1, Mac OS X (10.5.4)

I not sure about your OS X version (identified as OS X 10.5.4), but in the Network panel of System Preferences you should be able to invoke a "connection doctor" that will show you more about the nature of the problem.
