How to paste and arrange items on an external hard drive?

Hello,

I want to copy and rename some items on my 500GB Hard Drive.

I was just connecting it to my MacBook Air 11" and I've noticed that I can't paste, or rename the items on the drive.

Maybe it's something on the Finder Preferences?

I'd love to have the answer for this problem.

Is the drive formatted for Mac. If it's formatted for Windows NTFS then Mac treats it as read only.

Oh.

I used this Hard Drive on my Windows computer, now it all makes sense.

I think I'll buy another one.
