I up dated my computer to windows 7 now my ipod shuffle will not charge...Why?

I updated my computer to windows 7 and now my apple ipod shuffle will not charge. The light blinks orange and will not go to green. Is it because I updated my computer or is the recharageable battery finished? Also my Itunes is no longer on my computer. Do I need to reload?

iPod shuffle, Windows 7

Windows 7 uses more power than previous versions. That takes juice away from the USB ports.

A friend had an issue with external USB drives going to sleep. Turns out he was running two external disk drives, a USB printer and a USB camera plus the main system off a 250 W power supply. A 500 W power supply fixed that problem.

Sorry ... I misread your response, possibly ... as I have a Macbook Pro an think along those lines.

If it is a tower system, you should be able to swap the power supply easily. Microcenter or Fry's if one is close has the supply. The swap operation is easy as long as you remember where all of the plus from the old supply were connected (take pictures with a camera before and you have a good guid for after). Newegg.com probably carries them. BestBuy has them too, and though a bit overpriced will work.

Sorry if I "blew you off" without thinking.

No apple stores around but will try Wal-Mart tomorrow where i got the player. I think all the songs I had on my iPod are gone and i can not sync my iPod on this new system. Will ask about that tomorrow too. Thank you so much for trying to help. I am not very smart about these things but I love to walk with my IPod and now it is hard to get myself motivated.
