How can I import email from Outlook Express under Mac OS 8.6 into Apple Mail under Lion? How far back will it import? Maybe come in via Entourage? Still need to know how old it will go.

I see that Mail will import from Entourage but it seems to want to run Entourage to do it. It can open Netscape files, but how old? I'm pretty sure I need an intermediate level application, but I need to know how old I can go. Anybody know? I can't find the info on Apple's web site.
