Show My Caller ID- setting greyed out and can't be changed

can't do the second step, phone is greyed out if airplane mode is on

Hi, try this method, it works for me on an iphone4 & 4S (iOS7)

make sure you have all apps closed before next steps.

-Go to Settings, Phone, Show My Caller ID. (if button is Greyed Out)

-Pull down Control Centre & Turn On Airplane Mode & return to Show My Caller ID screen.

-Now slide your screen from right to left taking you to another screen, then slide back to your Show My Caller ID screen.

-Now You Can turn ON or OFF your Caller ID Button.

-Lastly slide down you Control Centre again and Turn OFF your Airplane Mode.

Thats it Job done.

Please note, it will now stay in the mode that you have chosen(ON or OFF) even if you respring or reboot your phone. But if you return back to

Show My Caller ID screen, then you SIM Provider will automatically Disable your Caller ID screen BUTTON once again. So just repeat the steps

above and your be fine.

Hello I have the same problem..... I tried this with the airplane mode... But when I turn the airplane mode back off still I have the same problem the button to turn my caller Id on is greyed out ????

I try this fix and it works... but only when i'm still in airplane mode as soon as i get my mobile service back, the show caller id turns back to off and grayed out.

Can you please help me??

Hi, tried the above but my "show my caller ID" remains set on the right side. I want to block the caller ID by sliding the switch to the left but can't in spite of trying the above suggestions. Any other ideas?

Try this:

Go to Settings>Airplane Mode and turn Airplane Mode "ON".

Now go to Settings>Phone>Show My Caller ID, still greyed out? If not, turn it on.

Go back to Settings>Airplane Mode and turn Airplane Mode "OFF".

strange, I did this, and I was able to slide the button after trying 15 times. But it want stay there (the wheel spins for ever) and when i return to general settings the caller ID return to grey.

Please help me 🙂

In Australia *31# then the number. You are calling displays your caller ID just for that call

You responded to a post over 2.5yrs old, pointlessly bumping this thread.

The issue had already been resolved.

You posted the exact same thing that resolved the issue in the first place. (Just a diff way to do the same thing.)

So, out of curiosity, why?

It just strikes me as curious someone would post the exact same solution, to someone who's issue was already resolved, well over 2.5yrs ago.

You say you're trying to make it more clear for people in the future... well, given the age of the post, the future has come and gone. It's highly unlikely people still are using the same phone and OS as when this posted, anyway.

What country you in? In Australia if you dial #31# and then the phone number it blocks your caller ID just for the next call

Do you realize you responded to a post that is (a) over 2.5 years old, and (b) is already resolved?
