Apple ID account wont accept my post code

When creating an Apple ID account,what do I do when it won't accept my postcode?

Are you sure you have selected "Australia" as the country or region?

All I wanted to do was download some free apps to my new iphone but as the account ID wont accept my post code its not happenning.

That is strange I checked my ID and it has the postcode entered correctly and it works. When you visit iTunes store on a computer there is a little flag icon on the right all the way at the bottom of the screen. Check that the flag is the Aussie flag
