Jun 29, 2014 10:37 AM in response to captfredby Pethef,Thanks for all the advice. It turned out that my keyboard was still paired with my newest Mac. Once I removed the wireless keyboard from its list the problem was resolved.

Jul 3, 2014 8:53 PM in response to ashokrtmby pford4024,I am having a problem but it is not with pairing. Some of my keys seem to make other keys type without hitting them. My 7, u, j, and m keys all generate other letters and numbers as well. So its looks like 79, uo, jl, and m., when I type. It is also the same in reverse. If I hit a 9, 79 pops up and same goes for the o, and period. Does anyone have any idea what I can do to fix this?

Nov 18, 2014 5:01 PM in response to Clementine314by TNGWB,This worked! Yes, it was my Apple TV! I think it updated while my computer was turned off, and found my computer's keyboard without telling me. I don't use Apple TV much, so I didn't notice it.

Dec 29, 2014 2:41 PM in response to TNGWBby Jeffrey Lewis,Hi guys. I am having the same problem. It is definitely not paired with any other devices, when I restart the mac, i get the login prompt but cannot type anything. I would expect the computer to be looking for a keyboard, but it is not telling me it can't find the keyboard. TIA>
