imovie freezes with spinning wheel on macmini, recently installed lion

When using imovie I found that the spinning wheel is on constantly and then locks up, I've increased memory to 4Gb and only run one app at a time. Could this be anything to do with recent installation of Lion OS? Or something else even?

Mac mini (Mid 2010), Mac OS X (10.7.3)
