Cropping to 4x6 on iPhoto on new iPad

I’m new to Apple and I bought the new iPad. I downloaded the iPhoto app and I have a question about cropping. I would like to print 4x6 pictures, but I do not see that size option in iPhoto. I do see 2x3 as a choice. Will that be sufficient or will the printed 4x6 photgraphs be grainy or lose details? Thank you very much.

The numbers (3x2) do not create a picture size. You decide on the picture content when you crop with the outlines. The smaller you crop, or the more edges you crop out, then remaining picture will have less detail or resolution. 3x2 is the ratio of height and width for the cropping. So 3x2 is the same as 6x4.

You will have to print some samples to find out. They are inexpensive to print at most print stores, like Walmart.
