Can't get exchange email set up on iMAC

I have windows PC's on same network and I can set up the exchange email accounts in Outlook for those users with the same information I'm using for the iMAC. The iMAC will not accept the user name and password.

When I set up the new exchange email account, I give it the email address and password, then the next screen adds the exchange server address, which I enter then it says mail can not log into the exchange server.

Is there something different you have to do with exchange to support MAC users?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Exchange works fine. It sounds like you have the wrong Exchange Server address. Contact your Server Admin and get the correct addresses.

I'm not sure how I could have the incorrect exchange server address if I'm able to use that same exact address with Outlook on a windows PC. Unless the iMAC needs a different address than windows PC's.

Microsoft Outlook connects to the Exchange Server using it's own protocol. In order for Apple Mail to connect it DOES need a different URL.

is there something standard I can add to the address that worked on the address that worked for the PC's?

Not that I know of. On my system the names (outside the domain) have no rhyme or reason.

You will need to contact the System Admin that supports the Exchange Server that you are trying to use. I had to submit a helpdesk ticket to get that information.

It is my exchange server and I have a consultant helping me, we are both trying to figure this out. Is there any documenation somewhere that might help?

If you have web access configured, try using that URL.
