I have Redlaser on my iPhone. It does both. Comments are a little mixed for it, but it works perfectly for me.

Yes, I did look at the review on the iTunes App store & Redlaser & the Premium one from Tap Media (NO ads) seem to be the best 2.

Since I have NO experience at all with such readers, my request here was for some further guidance.

Your response does help in that regard.

I too use Redlaser & have used it since it first appeared in iTunes...before eBay bought it. Works great.
