Does applecare cover for dents?

My girlfriend recently dropped my MacBook Pro (but to make up for it I smashed her iPhone, oops) and it now has two dents in the top of the lid. My laptop is still under warranty, would I be able to get it repaired/replaced?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Early 2011), Mac OS X (10.7.3)

Officially, Apple will not repair "cosmetic damage", under which dents, scratches, scrapes, etc. get classified. But strange things have been reported here (like entire Macs getting replaced for really tiny stuff). You'll have to take it in to the Store and hope for the best.

(Better yet, if the Genius Bar is staffed by guys, have the culprit take it in with a teary-faced look and explain how anguished she is for her misdeed.... šŸ˜ )

You sound like the past victim of such a tactic, Courcoul ...

On the contrary, had no sweet young thing on hand to persuade the Apple staff. Happened twice. First, the infamous peeling topcase on a TiBook, that not only affected the area around the keyboard, but also the rear lid covering the ports. Later, on a non-unibody MBP whose key caps literally went bare and lost all paint, hence no more lettering. Both cases verdict was "cosmetic, not covered". 😠😠😠

But at least never had to deal with an angry damsel hellbent on throwing the Mac out the window....
