Who is your Mail provider, the part after the @ sign?
Three servers:
Mac.com (me.com) Cloud
gmail
secureserver.net (goDaddy) under my domain @sbmgroupellc.com

Hmmm, in Mail's menu>Window>Connection Doctor, any clues with Details?
Connection status shows green light Mail was able to connect to the Internet
Then on account names:
iCloud. Could not connect to this MobileMe IMAP server . Check network connections.
SBM Groupe LLC. Trying to log in to this SMTP account failed
Gmail. Same thing
They all say verify username and password are correct, have done that in System Prefernces and Mail to no avail.
Network Diagnostic box in top is shaded grey, not available.
I appreciate your help.
Also getting message:
The server returned the error: the attempt to send data to the server "(null)" failed.
Check Mail>Preferences>Accounts>Account Info tab, highlight an account>SMTP Outgoing>Server settings, what are they?
Mail>Preferences>Composing>Addressing>Send Mail from... what is the setting there?
On iCloud are these your settings...
IMAP (Incoming Mail Server) information:
•Server name: imap.mail.me.com
•SSL Required: Yes
•Port: 993
•Username: example@me.com (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
•Password: Your iCloud password
SMTP (outgoing mail server) information:
•Server name: smtp.mail.me.com
•SSL Required: Yes
•Port: 587
•SMTP Authentication Required: Yes
•Username: example@me.com (use your @me.com address from your iCloud account)
•Password: Your iCloud password
In iCloud Incoming Mail server IMAP is shaded grey, not allowing me any imput

SSL is checked
SMTP is iCloud (MobileMe, Offline)

From what I see only trouble is IMAP which is not letting me enter server name.

But does it say imap.mail.me.com or mail.me.com ?
Let's try a second account...
Do not delete the old account yet. sign up for an iCloud account if you haven't.
I understand .mac mail will still come through. Do not delete the old account yet.
You cannot use .mac or MobileMe as type of Account, you have to choose IMAP when setting up, otherwise Mail is hard coded to change imap.mail.me.com to mail.me.com & smtp.mail.me.com to smtp.me.com, no matter what you try to enter.
iCloud Mail setup, do not choose .mac or MobileMe as type, but choose IMAP...
On second step where it asks "Description", it has to be a unique name, but you can still use your email address.

It says Incoming Mail Server. Then in shaded box mail.example.com It is not allowing me to enter anything.
I will try creating another iCloud account without deleting mine.
Will keep you posted, need to leave for a while, back after 7:30pm

I have also neglected to say that my iPhone and iPad2 are working. Perfectly as far as emails, all of them.

i had the same problem and it happens quite often which is annoying (it happened at least 3 other times this past year). what i did was i went to Mail>Preferences and then where your mail accounts are, in the left of the pane i just clicked the "-" subtract button and removed that account. then i re-added it and it seemed to work
