Jul 8, 2014 8:24 PM in response to downiepaulby MadMacs0,Linc does not normally respond to "me too" postings. It's best to start a new discussion so that everybody gets a chance to see it, not just the few of us that are still monitoring this old thread. That's just the way this forum works.
I'll just mention in passing that you have some Adware and software that no longer works with Mavericks to get rid of. I'm sure you'll be told to get rid of MacKeeper as it causes more problems than it solves for most users.
Use the Adware Removal Tool to get rid of Genieo and anything else you have accidentally installed along those lines.

Nov 24, 2014 4:21 PM in response to aross0531by hwoodlive,Same here, aross0531. I think I've tried every trick in the book ('the book' being mostly this thread) and often I get quick results, then back to the same old thing. It was both hilarious and maddening how long it took the login page to load on this forum just so I respond! :-) On the same computer with the same network settings, Firefox and Chrome are speedy, while Safari is often hopelessly slow. Wow.
