iTunes error message - missing iTunes64.msi on win7 64bit
I tried to update iTunes to the newest version - after downloading I receive the following error message: "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below."
The path in the box is 'C:\Users\DebbieCleaveley\AppData\Local\Apple\Apple Software Update\'
Then I get "The path 'C:\ProgramData\Apple Computer\Installer Cache\iTunes 10.2.1.1\iTunes64.msi' cannot be found. Verify that you have access to this location and try again, or try to find the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in a folder from which you can install the product iTunes"
I've hunted for a solution and found that back in 2008 this error seemed to be quite common and the solution was a Microsoft program called "MS Installer Cleanup Utility" which is no longer available.
I then tried uninstalling iTunes all together, to no avail. I get the same error. "The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'iTunes64.msi' in the box below.
So I cannot delete the old one, find the missing folder or do anything .... please help !
