AirPlay mirroring turns on initially and then keeps turning off and will not stay on? What is wrong? How can I fix this?

When I AirPlay - mirror my iPad to the apple tv, it initially turns on, but then kicks off my iPad over and over again and will not connect or stay connected. What is going on? How can I fix it's issue? Sometimes it AirPlay/mirrors fine, and other times it does not like to connect at all. What can I do?
