The app is now called "Music", and if you can't find it then it has either been dropped into a folder or perhaps disabled through Parental controls, or if this iPad is owned by your employer they could have disabled it.
You cannot delete the iTunes Store app. You do know that iTunes on the iPad is a store - not a media player like it is on a computer?
Check Settings>General>Restrictions. If restrictions are enabled, you may have turned off the iTunes store and the icon will disappear from the screen.
iTunes : Purple Icon with white music symbol.
Music: Orange icon with brown music symbol.
Both are default so should be there somewhere.
I have problems moving movies from iMac to iPad/Apple TV. Have searched multiple forums so far without a solve or solution to the issue.
Read your post, my "Music" icon is white with a blue/purple and pink music icon - I guess that means I haven't enabled something somewhere?
I'm hoping if I can get this sorted perhaps I'll be able to solve my issue with Apple TV.
Just found out this morning that I can't use Airplay with the iMac as it's a Mid 2010 build but I'm hoping the iPad will solve my issues, but it seems I don't have iTunes (as I used to know it) on the iPad so it can't sync with iMac and mirror the high of movies, not that the iTunes is the same on the iPad as the iMac - it's getting confusing..... does anyone have any ideas PLEAASSSEEEE
You have added to a 4 year old thread, which is nothing near what problems you are having. Just a quirk that I even looked at it. On the iPad, if you want to see video that you have synced to the iPad from the computer, they are in the app called Videos. It has nothing to do with the Music icon, which is just that, music. As far as Apple TV is concerned, I don't use one so I cannot really tell you, but I don't think you can add movie content from the computer to the Apple TV. Someone else would have to answer that one.
You would have been better off starting a new thread with your question to get better help.
Thanks Chris for taking the time to reply. Yes I saw that it was an old post after I submitted my question. Dang!
I've checked the "Video" app, nothing, it only has 3 old videos we hired about 6 months ago, no idea what has happened to those we have bought/hired in the meantime.
Re the Music icon - Ashka wrote in her response (yes I know it was in 2012, pity) that the music icon is orange with a brown music symbol - as you can guess, I'm grasping at straws trying to work out why I can't access/view rented videos.
I enjoy using Apple TV, but only when I rent/buy direct using the TV, when I try it using the iMac or iPad I encounter problems.
Given the simplicity of the program and the supposed interface of iTunes I would have thought it would be somewhat seamless and easy
Again, thanks for replying. I'll keep searching the web for a workaround........
You would probably be better of searching around a bit in the Apple TV forum to see if you find anything, or post your question there. Icons on the different devices have changed over the last few iOS updates, as well as the TVOS. You might want to see if this support link for the Apple TV helps you any further. http://www.apple.com/support/appletv/
Hi Chris, thanks for your reply. After a lot of work I've been able to get Airplay on the iPad which enabled me to move the movie from the iMac to the iPad. The process was made all the more frustrating by the lack of consistent information in one location - with numerous searches in various locations I was able to sort it out. Thanks again for taking the time to write a response. Cheers
You're welcome. Glad you got it all sorted out.
