iPhoto Print Size

Do you have the right orientation selected in the Page Setup window? If you're printing a landscape and have the portrait setting it would start printing in about the center. Try this workflow:

Steps for printing 4 x 6 prints from iPhoto:

1. crop the photo to 4 x 6 beforehand in iPhoto.
2. in Page Setup select your printer, proper page orientation and 4x6 or 4x6 borderless
3. click once on the picture you want to print to make sure it's selected.
4. now click on the Print button in iPhoto.
5. in the iPhoto print window, select your printer again, select Style = "Standard Prints", Size= 4x6 and click on One photo per page.
6. click on the Print button.

I get a small picture in the top part of the 4X6 paper

Where is this page setup in iPhoto?

If i use the Canon Easy Print (I have a canon mp800) it works fine not a problem but iPhoto seems not to be the usual easy Apple self....

Opps. Forgot that you have to use the Advanced button in the iPhoto print window to get to the options that one would normally get in iPhoto. I'll have to change those instructions to reflect iPhoto 6.

Here's the revised workflow:

Steps for printing 4 x 6 prints from iPhoto:

1. crop the photo to 4 x 6 in iPhoto.
2. select the picture you want to print and type Command-P.
3. *click on the Advanced button in iPhoto's print pane.
4. *select your Printer and Presets
5. *select "Paper Handling" in the Copies & Pages menu.
6. *in the Destination Paper Size section select "Scale to fit paper size: and select the paper size in the menu.
7. *click on the Standard button.
8. in the iPhoto print pane select your printer, Presets and Paper size.
9. select Standard Prints under Style.
10. select print size in the Size menu and check the "One photo per page: checkbox.
11. click on the Print button

*These steps may be redundant but might correct those situations where the paper size selected in the iPhoto print pane does not seem to take.

I have been dealing with the same difficulty I followed he inx from Toad and got close. The print came out centered but small. I decided to tsf the file to photoshop ans found it rather easy to get the print. With what we learned from Toad you can figure it out. Print from preview.

I do all of my printing from Photoshop as it gives me much more control like multiple prints on one large sheet, even if different sizes, etc. Going the Preview route from a Print to PDF can also work.
