When connected to itunes with USB nothing happens itunes(version 10.5.1) doesn"t even recognise it but when i plug in my iphone 4 that works perfectly.... Why ???

hold down the sleep button for 2 seconds then ceep olding it down and press down the home button for 10m seconds then...
keep holding the home button down and let go of the power button. Hold the home button down untill you hear the npoice of the ipod touch conecting to the computer that means it is in DFU mode itunes should pop up with amessage saying that it is in Recovery mode AKA DFU mode follow the steps to restore ipod touch and you shoud be al good.
