How do you keep both macbook screen and projector screen on Slide View?

I don't really know how to word the title, but anyway,

I wanna know how to keep both the macbook side and the projector side OFF of Presenter View.

I want to be able to click the hyperlinks on my macbook and not have Presenter View show up on the projector screen where the audience can see.

Something went wrong after I was using both Microsoft Powerpoint and Keynote at the same time on my Mac.

I think I pressed Esc out of the full screen from Microsoft PPT, then clicked "Play" on Keynote, then it switched to Presenter View by itself!

Also, when I put in the Projector plug adapter in my Macbook, the projector shows my Keynote windows off the projector screen. It's weird!

What am I to do?

MacBook Pro, Mac OS X (10.6.8), Keynote
