My Problem is that, I am not able to Paste anything, although i can copy anything, but when it comes to Paste option, It becomes faded, i.e i am not able to Paste anything. Please help me if anyone can help

Hey Hi, to apple Family.

Few days back, when i was doing some normal work on MS word, i found that i my paste option is not working.

Then i tried to use it for normal work like Moving Pics from here and there, but still found the same result.

When i try to select anything and then copy/cut anything, it got the intial action, but when i got to paste it anywhere, it won't do the action, and after checking in status bar, (above), It shows Paste option Faded, like i can't use it.

If some one from Users or any one From Apple Support can help me please do the need full done.

I have lotss of data in my Macbook, and i need to move it to somewhere else.

Please Help me.

Regards

Hello, Deepanshu,

Besides the good advice so far, might try this...

"Try Disk Utility

1. Insert the Mac OS X Install disc, then restart the computer while holding the C key.

2. When your computer finishes starting up from the disc, choose Disk Utility from the Installer menu at the top of the screen. (In Mac OS X 10.4 or later, you must select your language first.)

Important: Do not click Continue in the first screen of the Installer. If you do, you must restart from the disc again to access Disk Utility.

3. Click the First Aid tab.

4. Select your Mac OS X volume.

5. Click Repair. Disk Utility checks and repairs the disk."

Then try a Safe Boot, (holding Shift key down at bootup), run Disk Utility in Applications>Utilities, then highlight your drive, click on Repair Permissions, reboot when it completes.

(Safe boot may stay on the gray radian for a long time, let it go, it's trying to repair the Hard Drive.)

Mac OS X: Cannot print, use Classic, start file sharing, burn discs, or update software if /tmp missing...

To avoid these issues, you guessed it, you shouldn't delete the /tmp symbolic link from the Mac OS X volume.

If /tmp is missing, it's easy to make a new one by following these steps:

Mac OS X 10.3 or later

Recreate the missing /tmp link by using the Disk Utility application to repair permissions on your Mac OS X startup volume.

Hey BDAQUA.. Thank for replying.. But i checked that out.. I am having that Folder in my Mac's Private Folder..

Hey if i am not wrong you are mentioning about the folder :

In Finder -- > Go ----> go to folder --- > Type " /private" Then there is a folder with the name "Tmp"

I hope you are saying about it only.. Yeah this folder already exists in my Mac..

I searched some other posts too, there they used " Macintosh HD " Folder.. and there a tmp exists..

But i am not sure.. about which folder they are saying..

Could you please correct me if i am wrong.?

Thanks and Regards !!!!
