After I purchased my iPhone from Telus, I went to the Apple store to change it because of a minor problem.
And now, I need to go to S.Korea for a short-term business, and want to take my iPhone with me.
I heard from someone that if I get an exchange from the Apple store, the phone is not carrier-locked anymore.
Is it true?
Whether it is true or not, Can I use my iPhone in Korea?
If I can, how can I do?
If I can't, what should I do?

If the iphone was originally carrier locked, then the replacement should eb locked as well.
You can use it in Korea if your carrier has an international roaming plan ( very expensive).
You can use an unlocked iphone with a Korean SIM card.
I am thinking about to finish the contract with Telus and take the device with me..so the roaming plan won't work for me 😟
Do you have any idea what I can do?
I really want to take this device even though I need to unlock because I want to give this to someone else when I come back to Canada.

ONLY the carrier it is locked to can unlock it.
Contact them and see if they offer this service.
