Macbook no power

My Macbook has no power at all. None from the cord, none from the battery which was fully charged. I noticed only a couple of days ago the little green light on the connection flickered a couple of times. I took the extension off the lead and used the plug on the power box. I also took the battery out and put it back in. Completely stumped. Thanks for any help

MacBook, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

This knowledge base article describes troubleshooting MagSafe adapters.

When you say no power, do you also mean the MacBook will not power up at all, whether on battery or line power?

If that is the case it would be best to visit an Apple genius bar and have some diagnostics run on it.

If it does power up, what does it say about the condition of the battery: apple menu, About This Mac, More Info, System Report, Hardware, Power and battery condition, capacity, charge remaining, cycles and voltage.

Hi, Ralph, It would not power up at all whether on line cord or battery. I read the troubleshooting doc and tried various things which did not work. Then I noticed a comment that the l-mag-safe was compatible with the macbook. I put my Macbook Pro L-mag-safe adapter onto the Macbook and it started charging the Macbook. Obviously the problem was with a defective T Mag-Safe adapter. Thanks for your help.
